Our Story

Akin Auto Care has been a trusted name in auto repair in Cleveland, TX for over five decades. Originally founded in 1970 by two brothers as Akin Auto Service, the shop quickly became a local favorite for honest work and dependable service. After years of serving the Cleveland community, leadership transitioned to one of the brothers’ long-time technicians, who kept the legacy alive. In 2021, Ravi Mathur took ownership, rebranding the business as Akin Auto Care to honor its roots while bringing in a renewed focus on innovation, technology, and top-tier automotive care.

Meet the Owner

Ravi’s passion for cars started early. As a kid, he was fascinated by vehicles—peeking into windows, collecting toy cars, and dreaming of working with them someday. Although his parents encouraged him to pursue a different path, he found his way back to his passion through a career with Chevrolet, where he spent years as a Product Trainer. In 2021, after the birth of his son, Ravi decided to take a leap of faith and fulfill his lifelong dream by acquiring Akin Auto Care. For him, it was the perfect intersection of passion and purpose.

Our Team

The Akin Auto Care team includes Ravi (Owner), Christina, Paola, Jon, Chance, Leo, Victor, and Mark—a group of skilled, dedicated professionals who share a common goal: delivering excellent service every time. Each person brings a unique strength to the shop, creating an atmosphere of teamwork, respect, and pride in what they do.

Life Outside the Shop

When he’s not at the shop, Ravi enjoys spending quality time with his family, playing cricket, or relaxing with a PlayStation session. Family means everything to him—he and his wife have a spirited four-year-old son and a loyal nine-year-old Border Collie. Cars even run in the family—by the age of two, Ravi’s son could already identify car logos, proving that the love of automotive runs deep in the Mathur household.
