We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Technician Level 1 to join our team. The Technician Level 1 will be responsible for performing a variety of automotive repair and maintenance tasks, with a focus on timing chain replacement, electrical diagnostics, and some diesel work. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for automotive repair and a desire to grow their skills in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
  • Conduct timing chain replacements according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including wiring, switches, and components.
  • Assist with diesel engine diagnostics and repairs, including fuel system troubleshooting and injector replacement.
  • Perform engine tune-ups, brake repairs, suspension work, and other mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and time spent on each job.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair recommendations and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assist senior technicians and mentor junior technicians as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an automotive technician, with a focus on timing chain replacement, electrical diagnostics, and diesel work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment, including scan tools and multimeters.
  • Familiarity with automotive service information systems and repair manuals.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • ASE certification or willingness to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive repair is preferred.
